Workshop Description
Are you an actor who finds themselves stuck, anxious and/or afraid in the audition room? Are you confused what is meant by 'make strong/bold choices', or how to go about it? Have you found your scene partner or reader delivers lines very differently than what you hoped/anticipated/expected? In this workshop, learn how to pivot and "Yes, and..." a variety of circumstances actors face in the audition room. Whether new to acting, or a veteran, learn some tools and principles to help you get more out of your auditions and callbacks.
Facilitator
Maya Jairam is an actor, improviser and multi-hyphenate artist based out of Fort Collins, CO. Acting since childhood, she has found that improv has helped her become a better auditioner, actor, and castmate, as well as enjoy the auditioning process much more
In Kindness series
Improv and skills teachers from across North America are donating their facilitation skills to raise funds for sustainable programs and staffing for the Black Improv Alliance. Workshops in this series are free for Black people to attend.
