ABOUT ABOUT

The Black Improv Alliance Announces The Mix: A New BIPOC Improv Jam Celebrating Melanated Improv eXcellence

The Black Improv Alliance is thrilled to announce the launch of The Mix (Melanated Improv eXcellence), a brand-new bi-monthly improv jam dedicated to celebrating and uplifting BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color) voices in the world of improvisational theater. This exciting new event is a free, all BIPOC drop-in improv jam, inviting improvisers of all skill levels, from seasoned performers to complete beginners, to join in the fun.

The jam will take place on September 22nd, from 4-6 PM EST in Dumbo, Brooklyn, promising an evening filled with laughter, creativity, and community. The Mix will feature a dynamic blend of traditional and musical improv, culminating in a unique mashup of both styles. In addition to improvisers, musicians interested in jamming are also encouraged to attend and add their musical talents to the mix.

The Mix is proudly sponsored by the Black Improv Alliance and Operation Black Joy, making this a free event for all attendees. This collaboration underscores our commitment to fostering joy, creativity, and representation within the BIPOC community.

Whether you're looking to perform, sing, rap, or simply enjoy the general shenanigans, The Mix offers a welcoming and inclusive space for all to connect and create. Come laugh, play, and celebrate the vibrant diversity of BIPOC improv talent. Stay tuned for more details on our website, social media, and newsletter.

Join us and get into The Mix with the Black Improv Alliance and our melanated cousins.
